Continental Rider Limited is commited to protecting any personal details you share with us.

We act as 'Data Controller' as we hold and process details about you and, under the New GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) effective from 25th May 2018, must be clear and transparent to you, as our customer.

By doing this we believe that it will give our customers added confidence in the way we ensure personal details are relevant, accurate and safe.

We need to have a valid lawful reason to process a person's data and we must demonstrate this is; necessary, in order to provide our products and services.

Contract: We have to process information in order for us to reply to a customer question or to fulfill an order placed on our system.

If you have provided personal information for us to use/process we will consider that you have read our privacy information and how we use your data.  If at any time you wish your data to be removed from our site then please get in touch by either writing to us at our company address or emailing nigel.hancox@continentalrider.com and we will remove/delete your data as required.

Details of  items you purchase through our site, items you have viewed during this process, any voucher codes you may have used or discounts we may have offered, 

Information you have used to open your account or as a guest.

Information you provide if opting in for any newsletters or product information updates.

Social Media content where it is in the public domain.

Information collected during any telephone conversations.

We only request information that allows us to process your order on our site.

Why we collect your data and how we use it

To enable us to fulfill your order, or to answer any questions you may have, we will need to collect certain information about you.  Your information may be used by us for the following reasons:

  • To identify you during any contact between us
  • For security and services so we can recognise you.
  • To communicate with you to advise of issues or updates with your order or questions
  • To prevent and detect fraud or criminal activity
  • To contact you with any Newsletters or product updates if they become available
  • To reply to any issues, complaints, questions you may have

  • If we are purchased by a third party and our assests acquired personal data will be one of those assests

Due to the complexities of running a business we use other companies to assist us in getting your order to you.  Any information we share is under GDPR guidelines.  These third parties consist of:

  • Other businesses and people who either provide our website, deliveries or products
  • Professional advisors such as solicitors, if needed, or insurance companies if we need to obtain advice or quotes
  • Other people who make a subject access request, only where we are allowed to do so by law
  • Any third party service providers acting for us or law enforcement authorities

We will not transfer any personal information outside the EU without your written consent

We may, from time to time, change our Privacy notice to comply with rule changes or customer feedback. Any changes will be shown on this page.

Dealing with GDPR complaints

We aim to comply to the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). If you have any questions regarding your personal data, including your right to access details or to have your data deleted from our system then please email nigel.hancox@continentalrider.com who will deal with your questions.

If we hold inaccurate information, and you registered with us as a customer, you can sign in to your account where you will be able to amend information as required.  If you wish to have your data deleted then please email nigel.hancox@continentalrider.com and he will arrange to have your details removed.

Security

We are committed to ensuring all data is secure but should there be any breach we will inform you as soon as possible

Financial information, including credit card details

Payment details are never actually received by us.  When you pay you are diverted to our contract merchant service provider, PayPal.  No payment details are either stored or appear on our system.

You will know your payment is secure as your browser address box will show either a 'padlock' or a 'key' symbol.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored in your web browser from our website.  Our website cookies do not collect any personal information about you, nor do they allow us to access your computer in any way.

We use tracking cookies to identify which of our website pages are being used.  This enables us to analyse web page views and improve our website.  This information is only used for statistical analysis and no personal information is stored.

You can chose to accept or decline cookies, but you should note that declining can adversely affect the performance our our website.
